ASKING FOR MORE

Written by Eric Lockley
Directed by Jonathan McCrory

Asking For More, is a multimedia solo performance piece exploring the mind-space of characters struggling with a healthy life-style in Urban communities. We meet Kalen, an insistent little boy, whose recent health epiphanies challenge his mother’s “soulfood” ways. Through other characters including, EmPHATic, a faaaaabulous workout guru, and Ronel McDee, a bootleg rapping Ronald McDonald, the audience is exposed to the extremes with which food and health are often “fed” to urban youth. Kalen’s ambitious hopes to completely change his household are met with resistance, and Kalen must learn that change, no matter how important, sometimes comes in “small bites”.
